Currently, the college have five (5) departments offering five (5) undergraduate B.A (Honours) courses in English, History, Political Science, Sociology and Education. Each department is manned by highly motivated and competent faculty. Other courses and programmes – Commerce, Science, professional course and post-graduate courses are also being introduced in the next few years.
The duration of the undergraduate degree programme is three (3) years consisting of six (6) semesters. The Monsoon Semester comprises of one course semester between July-December and the Winter Semester comprises of another course between January-June.
The course duration may vary from time to time as per the directives of the University Grant Commission and Manipur University. Besides theoretical lectures and tutorials, HNC organises mandatory study tours and field trips for all students in each semester within Manipur as well as outside of the North East.
BA (Hons.) programmes strictly follow the norms laid down by UGC. Lectures, tutorials and grading of students are in accordance with the UGC syllabus and prescribed reading materials. The expected outcome of the programmes is to mould and shape students to develop strong conceptual knowledge of the subjects studied, nurture confidence in the student, encourage critical thinking and impart application oriented study.
Students have access to numerous resources in the library of the college. They will be given applied technical trainings periodically by industry experts and faculty from premier institutes across the country. Training in soft skills training as well as applied technical skills would be given from time to time by the experts in person and through video conference or classroom session.
